(More customer reviews)I have a plain Yakima Q-Tower rack on my truck and have been searching for a good tie down strap to carry surfboards for months now. Before buying these straps, I used two simple tie down straps with ratchets on the ends. This worked fine if I was carrying one of two surfboards stacked on top of each other, but was really a pain if I was trying to carry more than that with boards sitting side by side on the rack. I would either have to loop the strap through the rack between the two rows of surfboards or the straps would slowly squeeze the two rows or boards together (like shuffling a deck of cards)and, in turn. loosen the straps. I knew someone out there had to have come up with a better strap that can be more or less permanently attached to the center of the rack and easily tied down once the boards are in place. That someone is NSI. In fact, I'm surprised they are the only company out there which makes easy to use, secure tie down straps like these. Now I have these straps attached to the center of my rack bars. I put two rows of surboards on the rack, pull the tie downs from the center of the rack over each stack of boards and tie it down. In addition, given the elastic inthe straps, I don't worry about over tightening the straps and puting pressure dings in my boards. Great straps!!!
