(More customer reviews)There is no reason to purchase any other Saints hitch cover. This one is as eye catching as it gets. It is bigger than you think. It is all metal, sturdy, and the colors are bright.
Only one thing...and I wouldn't shy away from getting it because of this but...the top is like a sword, watch your knee caps as you put up the groceries. Still get it and represent right, but just be aware of the bone piercing top.
Review Update 6/15/10:
My wife was rear-ended today. There was no major damage. But, they did destroy our hitch cover. It has been grabbing attention since early May. We still love it as much as we did on day one. And.....it is for this reason....that the guy who hit her at the light (who also had a warrant) will have to worry more about me seeking to avenge my hitch cover's death, than he will have to worry about the police.
I bought another one. They are too sharp looking for a true fan not to own.

I take her everyday for a 2.5 mile run.It takes us about 25 minutes and she is pooped for the whole day.But the days i walk her i can walk all the way across town and she's still up for more after the 2 hours walking.I just love it becasue i love biking and making my dog as happy as i have ever seen her. In a fraction of the time she gets all the exercise she needs, half the time I even let her pull me along.my sister bought a different bike leash and couldnt even figure out how to attach it to her bike.After three days of trying to figure the "other" one out we gave up and she uses mine to run her cattle dog and doberman. All the dogs took awhile to get used to it but after an hour of walking them with the leash (not attached) we hooked them to the bike and with tons of encouragement they all do great and even do full dead run.The dogs have a huge back yard and even though they play all day long, we can see a huge difference in attitude, behavior/obedience, and overall happieness with all the dogs.

Build quality is okay, but assembly is a chore, and the hitch tube is not as rugged as I would have liked (it has thinner walls than I would have expected). Also the hitch tube is very square (the edges are not well rounded) and will not fit the receiver on one of my vehicles because of the square edges. Test the receiver tube as soon as you get it to make sure it will work for your vehicle before you go to the trouble of assembly. No hitch pin is included.

(More customer reviews)I researched this purchase alot and I found the reviews to be helpful so I will add my insights.
I have many years of biking experience and am a former bike mechanic. I would have recomended this trailer to my old customers.
The trailer is well made. The welds are very good and the canopy fits tightly. You do need to adjust some straps to get it to fit spot-on but that's to be expected.
This trailer is light and easy to fold up and store as well as unfold and get ready. The process to go from folded to ready to roll is about 4 minutes. The trailer is self explanitory so you don't need to haul the directions around to get it set up.
The bike hook up is easy, however you need to balance the bike upright to do the hook up. Not a big deal and once the coupling is complete you can lay the bike down.
I have two kids who will use the trailer. They are a tight fit inside as I expected. They are comfortable; they have good leg room and a spot for each of them to have cups etc. There is ample room behind them for storage too. The saftey straps are a real bugger. They are not a fastex buckle as you would expect. They are a snap-hook and a "D" ring hook for the shoulder straps. This is ok going on and a pain getting off. Not horrid but really annoying.
The trailer tracks the bike very well. It does change the geometry of the bike though; so it will take some getting used to. The added weight really is a good workout. I have kept the speed down. I don't want to really be moving and need to do a quick manuver with it. You do need to be careful about clearance though. Keep in mind your footprint is three times larger than without the trailer.
I have been sticking to pavement for now. I want to get my daughters comfortable with it before I go to dirt roads. I will have to do some adjusting of the tire pressure for off road so they don't bounce to death.
Over all for the price you are getting more than your moneys worth. I will add to this review if I have an issue down the road.
************* Update 7/18/07. We have around 200 miles on the trailer. So far there have been two issues. The first is with the front wheel you use when using the trailer as a stroller. My wife used it twice and noticed one of the wheels was tilted.-The amazon picture shows one front wheel, there are actually two side-by-side- It ended up being more than tilted the axle was bent badly. I called InStep and they shipped a replacment out very quickly. I would really caution you not to load this up and use it as a stroller...the front wheel just can't handle it.
The second issue is a trivial one yet it is an area that a design change could be made. The floor of the trailer is fabric. When rolling your child needs to keep their feet on the front frame bar. If they do not they can push the fabric down so it rubs along the ground. My daughter did this for a short trip and one area is now very worn. It would not take long to get a hole. A plastic tray or a rub pad on the bottom could solve this. So far asking them to keep their feet on the bar has sufficed....just keep it in mind.
I would rate this as my best buy of the year and one I wish I done three years ago. I'll update this again if an issue crops up.

Avenir Solo Trailer with Stroller Attachment Review

(More customer reviews)This is my first experience with trailers/joggers and I wish it was not with this one. Amazon's service was prompt and up to par, however this trailer is extremely over-priced for what it is. The jogging attachment is ever so slightly uneven and pulls to the left. After 3.5 miles I was sick of constantly adjusting for this and was glad when the run was over, though my 20 month old seemed to enjoy the ride:) Then came the ill fitting chain stay attachment for the trailer. I have a Raliegh Mohave 50 with disc brakes. My local shop said the two were compatable- not. The disk prevents the attachment from seating all the way back on the stay and after only 1 mile had begun to rub the frame. It also is seated about 1" from both the disk and the spokes. Any slippage has the potential for disaster. The graphics on the directions show it attached to a 1950's style bike- like something Beaver Cleaver would ride. Not going to keep this.

Looks just like the picture. For some reason when his came in, the hitch holes were not drilled correctly, but the company sent him a new one after we sent them back the old one. The only bad thing is they said they'd reimburse payment on the shipping, but they didn't. Also be prepared to buy a hitch lock for it.

We have a trailer but I wanted to try a seat because I thought it would be easier than dragging the trailer out- especially just for riding slowly around the neighborhood with a three year old!
The front kind seemed like a good idea. The whole reason I bought a trailer in the first place was because I was afraid of my balance being thrown off with a bike seat. This front mounted seat is super for balance! I felt very comfortable with my daughter up front and she loved it! We just went for a test run around the block after installing it.
I was able to install in less than 20 mins with a 10 month old crawling around. So I'd say it was pretty easy. It's also very easy to remove the seat when you don't want it on your bike.
I was a little afraid of how my knees would hit the seat but I figured for the price I would just order it and give it a try and if it didn't work out I'd return it.
It's much better than I thought it would be. My knees don't really hit but I have to pedal in a way that I'm aware that the seats there. Not really a big deal, just something to get use to.
The seat does seem a little wobbly, not terribly so though, so not a huge deal. I may be able to adjust it to keep it from doing this. The seat was so easy to install I actually haven't read the manual yet...
Over all for the price you can't beat it. What a cool thing.
I just want to add that I recently went to our local hospital where they do helmet fittings to get a new helmet for my three year old and they wouldn't sell me one for my daughter until she's a year. The AAP doesn't recommend children ride in trailers or bike seats until a year. Trailers are also recommended over bike seats because the majority of accidents happen in bike seats. Although I would imagine that would be the back mounted type. It would be interesting to see a study about front mounted seats as they become more available.
Get this seat! Just be safe!

(More customer reviews)I was surprised to see the tiny little battery clips and undersized #1o wire for a unit that the company said may draw 200amps or more.I had to call and the tech had to ask around for that info, it is no where printed.I ran some #4 from my Tahoe's battery, thru the hollow truck frame to the rear(where trailers are! The supplied cable was only 10 ft anyway!) and purchased some heavy duty disconnect adapters to connect to the winch. I left 2 ft of the #10 wire on to act as a fusible link. It does pull my big boat up (with an additional snatch block) but the manual handle stripped after a few seconds of use when I tried to get some slack , without load.Only time will tell if I wasted the $99. At least I was motivated to get the truck and trailer set up for an electric setup, which cost almost as much as the winch itself.
